Britain Set To Benefit From 2008 Colgate Oral Health Month

Tue, 26 Aug 2008

The Colgate Oral Health Month is set to take place once again with more than 85 per cent of UK dental practices registered to take part in this year’s campaign.

Starting from 1 September, the campaign will continue its annual cause to highlight the benefits of good oral health and to encourage communication between dental professionals and patients across the country.

The 2008 oral health drive comes as recent findings show that an average child in the UK has 1.5 rotten teeth by the age of just five – a figure that is doubled in some of Britain’s major cities.

This year's nationwide campaign, which is jointly organised by Colgate and the British Dental Association (BDA), will be supported by TV advertising and a roadshow that will travel from city to city throughout September.

Dental professionals will be stationed at mobile tooth-brushing units to give advice on oral health and demonstrate appropriate brushing techniques.
