A dental practitioner from Wirral, Merseyside, has been named the best young dentist in the North West of England.
Dr Simon Wright, who practices at the Glencairn Dental Practice in Bebington and is also an acting partner in the newly re-opened Glenside practice in the Pensby area, received the prestigious title at the 2009 Dentistry Awards in Leicester.
The annual awards ceremony recognises outstanding dental individuals, teams and practices in nine regions across the UK.
Each region is presented with three awards by a select panel of judges - the Best Young Dentist, the Best Team and Best Practice.
Commenting on his success, Dr Wright said: "I was delighted to have been nominated for this award, and then to find out that I won best young dentist was brilliant, especially as the competition was of a very high standard."
Dilys Quinlan, dental modernisation manager, added: "This Award is well deserved. Simon has boundless energy and is proactive and positive - he is a real asset to the Wirral dentistry team."
