A new dental advice helpline has been set up in Devon to provide the county’s residents with information on how to access dental services .
The helpline, which was launched by the Devon Primary Care Trust on May 1, is available to both residents and visitors in the Devon PCT area.
The 0845 002 0034 advice line is open between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday. Patients who call during evenings and weekends will be redirected to out-of-hours dental cover .
Andrew Harris, the trust's dentistry lead, said: "We are sure that people who wish to access an NHS dentist will be pleased that they will now be able to get instant advice over the phone.
"We have listened to our patients and this step will ensure they have greater access to information about NHS dental services ."
"Patients requiring urgent care outside normal working hours should call (01392) 823 682," he added.
