Colgate has announced it will be organising and running a UK road show next month in a bid to raise awareness of the importance of good oral care and hygiene.
The road show will visit major retailers at venues across the UK, where dental hygienists and therapists will give advice on tooth brushing techniques and general oral care .
The scheme will form part of Colgates Oral Health Month, which is run in association with the British Dental Association.
The 2010 campaign aims to encourage people to improve their oral health by having regular dental check-ups, brushing their teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and replacing their toothbrush regularly, and avoiding sugary snacks between meals.
More than 90 per cent of UK dental practices are expected to participate in the Oral Health Month initiative, which is also designed to help improve communication between dental professionals and patients.
Each participating practice will receive a practice pack containing educational and motivational materials that will be used to promote the campaigns messages.
For the first time, the pack will also include a Colgate Oral Health Month Practice PR Kit to help practices promote their oral health month activities.
Earlier this month, the Colgate-Palmolive group reported that its overall share of the toothbrush and toothpaste markets had risen during the second quarter of 2010.
