Thousands Of NHS Dental Places Available In Central Lancashire

Tue, 16 Feb 2010

More than 30,000 new dental places have been created in central Lancashire, health chiefs have revealed.

Bosses at NHS Central Lancashire say around 33,000 new places are available for residents and are urging those who are currently without access to an NHS dentist to register their details to receive an appointment.

The extra capacity has been created by the opening of four new NHS dental surgeries in the region.

The first of the four practices opened for business in Up Holland in October 2009, while patients in Ormskirk were treated to a new surgery in December as part of the West Lancashire Health Centre .

Dentists at a new surgery in Chorley are now offering dental treatment and a fourth facility in Preston is set to take on new patients in the coming months. The practice is due to be open in spring 2010.

To book a place at one of the new dental practices, residents must call NHS Central Lancashire’s dental access team on: 01772 777397, or visit www.centrallancashire.nhs.uk, to register their details.
