The forthcoming annual oral health campaign, the 35th National Smile Month, this year being held between May 15 and June 15, has announced it is joining forces with a popular website forum being launched by the Dental Health Foundation .
The success of previous campaigns, and the interest shown by dental practices, has helped drive the Dental Health Foundation to set up its first online forum. The forum will offer guidance and a chance to share ideas to improve practices and help event organisers during the campaign.
The theme for this year is the ‘Smile Factor', which will help it continue to provide a valuable outlet for local promotions by dental practices and educators aiming to raise awareness about the value of good oral health .
Nigel Carter, chief executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, commented "A major reason for the success of National Smile Month is the enthusiasm and hard work of the thousands of organisers who are dedicated to pushing the positive message of good oral health."
He added "Year on year, these hard-working people stage some really imaginative and unique ideas. The thought behind this forum is to share some these ideas amongst a mass community and to talk about ways you can use the campaign to deliver more comprehensive messages to your local community."
